I was 14 when Event Horizon came out, and it branded itself into my brain. It haunted me in a way I couldn’t explain. So hearing about the nuts and bolts behind it was fun. I was kind of surprised to hear that the spiritual elements were a flourish of the director and not the author.
One of the great things about film is that with so many people involved in its creation, it really has the opportunity to become greater than the sum of its parts. It looks like Event Horizon did exactly that!
